| Build
the mega-seaport to serve the Pearl River Delta |
| Located
in the east part of the Pearl River Delta, Port of Guangzhou
has been the hub port for foreign trade in South China
in the long term, with its hinterland included the Provinces
of Guangxi, Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Hunan, Hubei. Guided
by the theory of "the Pan-Pearl River Delta"
, which was put forward by Mr. Zhang Dejiang, Member of
the Political Bureau of CPC Central Committee and Party
Secretary of CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, it is
to speed up the development in the west part of the Pearl
River Delta. A matching mega-port is in urgent need for
the west part so to activate the Pearl River Delta. Nansha
terminal of Port of Guangzhou has the advantages of favorable
objective and subjective factors to help the economic
and social development in Guangdong in a new round. |
